Author's Notes: 1. By now, you all hate me for updating this slowly, I realise. I apologise. 2. This has been in the works for almost two years now. The chapters I'm posting have been written for months, nearly a year & honestly? I pretty much now hate the way I wrote them. BUT I don't like to see a fic die, so I'm posting reluctantly anyway. I think a third re-write would just be ridiculous. Thankyou all for bearing with me for such a stupidly long time. Previous chapters can be found here.
disarm_d (wtf, why can't I think of fic ideas of my own accord anymore?) following the video from the VMAs where Gabe is Gabe-like & Ryan Ross is drunk. And then there was 14-odd pages of non-chronological, POV-switching, multi-pairing VMA shennanigans. Also, let's pretend RL significant others just don't exist for the moment, mmkay? Sidenote: there is no Justin Timberlake porn, here. Sorry to disappoint. I swear, I tried, but it just -- wasn't happening. xD band_princesses challenge. How much do I love RyanRoss as a moody pixie? A lot, that's how much. :Dbritchick5000 for beta-ing this for me. Her knowledge of Oxbridge & general historical brilliance helped make this into what it is. She did an amazing job, and I learnt a great deal, too. For example, did you know that it was fabric handkerchiefs, and not paper tissues that were used until the 1970s? Without britchick5000 's help, this small yet significant error would have remained. xD periculosa for her encouraging words and without whose excellent nitpicking many stray commas and rogue apostrophes would have gone unedited. mack_at_home for unsticking my brain so that I could finally write the ending. disarm_d 's Looking For Techniques (although it doesn't quite follow the storyline.) It's not essential to read her fic in order to follow this one, but you should read it anyway, because it's pretty much awesome. It all began with a picture, then spiralled into something quite epic. Much thanks to britchick5000 and periculosa for the amazing beta job. I couldn't have made this as good as I wanted to without your help. disarm_d started talking about a prissy, British university AU where Brendon & Spencer totally <3 each other but can't do much because of inexperience & homophobia.
